The journal is a fully open-access, online-only scholarly journal committed to disseminating high-quality research in Nutrition and Dietetics. All published content is made available immediately and freely, without subscription or access barriers.
The journal adheres to international best practices in scholarly publishing and employs a rigorous peer-review process to ensure persistent identification, discoverability, and long-term accessibility of published articles.
Purpose of Peer Review
Peer review ensures academic quality, integrity, and reliability of published research. Independent experts assess manuscripts for:
- Originality and scientific validity
- Methodological rigor
- Ethical compliance
- Clarity of presentation
- Contribution to scholarly literature
Peer Review Model
The journal operates a double-anonymized (double-blind) review system:
- Author identities are concealed from reviewers
- Reviewer identities are concealed from authors
Initial Editorial Screening
All submissions undergo editorial screening to determine whether they:
- Fall within the journal’s aims and scope
- Comply with submission and ethical guidelines
- Meet language and scholarly standards
Screening includes checks for:
- Plagiarism (similarity detection tools)
- Inappropriate or excessive AI-generated content
External Peer Review Process
Eligible manuscripts are reviewed by at least two independent experts with relevant expertise and no conflicts of interest.
Reviewers evaluate:

- Reference adequacy
- Ethical considerations
The journal aims to provide an initial decision within approximately six (6) weeks.
Editorial Decision Categories
- Accept with Minor Revisions: Suitable for publication with minor improvements.
- Major Revisions: Significant revisions required before reconsideration.
- Revise and Resubmit: Substantial changes required; treated as new submission.
- Reject: Not suitable due to major flaws or ethical concerns.
Author Response to Reviewers
Authors must submit a structured, point-by-point rebuttal addressing all reviewer comments. Inadequate responses may result in rejection.
Reviewer and Editorial Ethics
- Treat manuscripts as confidential
- Declare conflicts of interest
- Provide objective and respectful feedback
- Do not use unpublished material for personal gain
Article Processing Charges (APCs)
The journal operates a full open-access model and charges an USD 50 APC payable only after acceptance. There are no submission or review fees.

All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0). Authors retain copyright, and readers may reuse content with proper attribution.
